MICRONEEDLING THERAPY

Microneedling Hair Restoration Therapy

What is it?

Microneedling has been used to promote healing for thousands of years dating back to traditional Chinese medicine practices. This ancient technique was modernized in the 20th century for numerous health applications.

Microneedling takes advantage of the skins’ natural ability to repair itself when it is injured. A skin injury triggers the release of a cascade of chemical growth factors and cells including stem cells and collagen which are the building blocks of repair and growth …including hair growth. Microneedling does involve needles but is considered non-minimally invasive due to the limited depth of the needle puncture.

How does it work?

Microneedling uses tiny sterile needles to quickly create a controlled skin injury, consisting of hundreds of microscopic punctures in the upper layer of the scalp. It has been proven that these tiny injuries trigger the body’s “repair response” bringing a host of growth promoting cells into the hair follicles.

The tiny punctures also have a mechanical function for hair growth by creating channels for our topical treatments to penetrate more deeply and be absorbed more efficiently.

The result: improved blood flow, better treatment efficacy, enhanced growth and a healthier scalp.
