Persistent scalp issues may signal underlying health concerns. Explore personalized scalp care at AGAPE.
More than a temporary fix.
We evaluate your hair and scalp, identify your individual concerns, and build a personalized treatment plan. Our natural, holistic approach supports healthy hair growth, scalp rejuvenation, and overall wellness.
Those who suffer with chronic scalp issues know the difficulty of searching for help at the drugstore counter or doctor's office, only to have the problem return, possibly worse than before. Many treatments contain oils and irritants that directly contribute to scalp problems and can damage the deep layers of the scalp or alter its pH.
Our approach begins with your medical history, laboratory work-up, and a meticulous microscopic analysis of your hair and scalp. We evaluate your current hair care practices and products, then design a personalized treatment plan to restore scalp health and set you on a path toward long-term wellness.
We always begin by establishing a healthy scalp environment. Our organic peat-based treatment is purifying and exfoliating, removing accumulated toxins, harmful microorganisms, thick plaques, and dead skin layers—preparing the surface to absorb later treatments.
Low Level Laser Therapy
Our professional-grade laser is a must for almost all hair and scalp conditions. LLLT is non-invasive, harnessing infrared light, studied since the 1960s, to promote tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and stimulate stem (growth) cells.
Oxygen Scalp Therapy
A natural, non-invasive treatment that stimulates the scalp with oxygen, applied with one of our plant-based tonics. It stimulates blood flow, replenishes moisture, delivers nutrients, and balances scalp and hair from roots to ends.
Nutrition Interventions
Conquering scalp issues frequently involves changes to diet and lifestyle to balance the body, control pH, and maintain a healthy metabolism—reducing inflammation, which is a trigger.
Custom Scalp Tonics
Formulated for treatment at home and in the clinic, your personal formula targets inflammation and microbial overgrowth, heals tissues, and reduces flaking, sensitivity, itch, and redness.
Hair / Skin Products Review
Most scalp issues have triggers, some of which are the products used in daily care. We do a detailed review of all your products to eliminate aggravating substances.
Scalp disorders
Conditions we treat.
01
Dry / Oily Scalp
Dry or oily scalp, or a combination of both, are frequent concerns. They can stem from hormonal fluctuations, nutritional deficiencies, environmental influences, or improper hair care practices, all of which disrupt the pH balance, hydration, and natural oil (sebum) levels of the scalp.
An imbalanced scalp may show as excessive dryness, causing flakiness and tightness, or as excessive oiliness, resulting in a greasy, heavy scalp. Left untreated, these conditions can compromise follicle health, leading to inflammation, infections, and ultimately hair loss.
Following a thorough scalp examination, personalized trichology treatments are designed to restore the scalp's natural equilibrium, promoting scalp health and supporting hair growth.
02
Itchy, Tender, or Painful Scalp
Itching, burning, or soreness often indicates inflammation, nerve sensitivity, or underlying health issues. Common triggers include nutrient deficiencies, sensitivity reactions to hair care products, or the strain of tight hairstyles. A more serious cause can be autoimmune disorders, where the immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles.
Left untreated, these symptoms can lead to chronic inflammation that can permanently damage follicles. Identifying the root cause is essential to halting progression, restoring scalp comfort, and supporting healthy growth. Our trichology treatment plans provide both immediate relief and long-term restoration.
03
Chronic Dandruff
Dandruff is more than a cosmetic concern—chronic flaking can indicate an overgrowth of microbes or deeper issues like hormonal imbalances, metabolic issues, and poor gut health. Flakes may be dry or oily and often return even after medicated shampoos, which temporarily treat symptoms without addressing underlying issues.
Triggers include oils or irritants in hair care products, dietary choices, seasonal changes, and stress. Successful management requires a holistic approach addressing both internal health and the scalp environment. Our personalized approach can help break the cycle and restore confidence.
04
Seborrheic Dermatitis
A frequently overlooked condition characterized by large, oily flakes, scalp redness, irritation, and itch. Like dandruff it is chronic and persistent, but its underlying inflammation can be severe, potentially leading to scalp tenderness, infections, and even hair loss. It can extend to the eyebrows, ears, and beard.
Our trichology treatment packages address underlying causes and triggers such as stress, hormonal imbalances, and nutritional deficiencies. We review hair care products to eliminate ingredients that may worsen the condition, and provide therapeutic scalp care to manage symptoms and prevent future flare-ups.
A little more clarity
Listen to what your scalp is telling you.
Itching, flaking, tenderness, and buildup can look similar while having different causes. A careful conversation and scalp observation help distinguish a routine-care question from a concern that needs medical attention.
Look beyond the flakes
Tell the team how long symptoms have lasted, whether they come and go, and which products or styles seem to affect them. Avoid assuming all flaking is dandruff or that persistent symptoms can be solved by exfoliation alone.
Trichoscopy provides magnified views of the scalp and hair. The images can support observation and comparison, but they are one part of the discussion rather than a diagnosis on their own.
Head spa and scalp-focused services offer a setting for care and relaxation. When irritation, open skin, or a suspected infection is present, confirm suitability before booking any cosmetic scalp service.
Explain the soreness before booking. Severe pain, spreading redness, sores, drainage, or rapid hair loss needs prompt medical evaluation. A soothing service is not a replacement for that care.
Should I change all of my products before visiting?
Bring a list or photographs of your current products first. Describe anything new and what happened after using it. Avoid layering new oils or exfoliants onto an irritated scalp.
Is scalp care the same as hair-loss treatment?
They can overlap, but they are not interchangeable. Your appointment should address both the condition of the scalp and any separate changes in density, shedding, or breakage.
